As per the latest NHSE guidance both flu and COVID-19 vaccinations for adults will commence on 11 September 2023. Text invitations to self book an appointment have been sent out and we would appreciate it if you could use the link if possible. Letter invitations to those who do not have mobile numbers have also been sent out  to eligible patients.  If you do need to call the surgery to book, please do so after 2pm.

We are holding clinics on the following dates:- 16 September, 23 September and 7 October 2023.  

The following cohorts of patients will be eligible for both a flu and covid vaccination this autum:-

 

FLU Vaccination Eligibility

COVID Vaccination Eligibility

All aged 65 years and over

All aged 65 years and over

Those aged 6 months to under 65 years in clinical risk groups (as defined by the Green Book, chapter 19 (Influenza))

Those aged 6 months to 64 years in a clinical risk group, as laid out in the Immunisation Green Book, COVID-19 Chapter (Green Book)

Those in long-stay residential care homes [footnote 1]

Residents in a care home for older adults

Carers in receipt of carer’s allowance, or those who are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person

Persons aged 16 to 64 years who are carers (as defined in the Green Book) and staff working in care homes for older adults.

Close contacts of immunocompromised individuals

Household contacts of immunosuppressed individuals aged 12-64 years (as defined in the Green Book)

Frontline workers in a social care setting without an employer led occupational health scheme including those working for a registered residential care or nursing home, registered domiciliary care providers, voluntary managed hospice providers and those that are employed by those who receive direct payments (personal budgets) or Personal Health budgets, such as Personal Assistants

Frontline health and social care workers

All frontline health care workers, including both clinical and non-clinical staff who have contact with patients, should be offered a flu vaccine as part of the organisations’ policy for the prevention of the transmission of flu to help protect both staff and those that they care for. 

 

Pregnant women

 

All children aged 2 or 3 years on 31 August 2023

 

Primary school aged children (from Reception to Year 6)
