Welcome to Sunnyside Surgery, Penzance

Sunnyside Surgery is a friendly 6 doctor Practice in the coastal town of Penzance in West Cornwall.  We serve 6500 patients from a variety of social and ethnic backgrounds.  

The GPs are supported by a dedicated team who are here to treat the minor illnesses that occur as well as management of long term conditions and chronic diseases. The healthcare team work together to ensure the most appropriate care is provided by the appropriate Healthcare Professional.

Norovirus Cases are increasing in Cornwall

Norovirus update, 11 March 2024

Cases of sickness and diarrhoea (norovirus) are rising and impacting local hospitals.

  • If you or your family have symptoms, please do not visit a healthcare setting.
  • Get better at home with simple self-care.
  • Stay off school or work until you have not been sick or had diarrhoea for at least 2 days. This is when you are most infectious.

Self-care tips:

  • stay at home and get plenty of rest
  • drink lots of fluids
  • take paracetamol if you're in discomfort
  • wash your hands with soap and water often (hand gel is not effective against norovirus)
